Competence in the fields of urban planning and disaster managementStudents are required to take part in a project on hazard mitigation planning, spatial planning/design, urban renewal, or community disaster prevention.
Communication skills and project coordination skillsBefore graduation, students are required to either participate in international exchange program, assist with community disaster prevention/community planning project, or to complete a 120-hour internship during winter/summer break (performance is assessed by the employer).
Professional certificationBefore graduation, students are required to either pass “Graduation Project” course which would include a public exhibition of project results outside the MCU campus, or to obtain a professional certification of Community Planner or Escrow Officer.
Skills in writing professional reportsStudents practicum report must pass both departmental and external reviews. Students are also required to participate in the Nationwide Planning Department/Graduate Program Campaign.
Employment competitivenessCompleted graduation project needs to be approved by the department.
